Osaka Expo 2025 highlights future of healthcare, technology
Hosting participants from 158 countries, the event features national showcases alongside eight signature pavilions created by prominent Japanese artists, architects, and scientists, each presenting a unique vision of life. The standout pavilions include Better Co-Being, Future of Life, Playground of Life: Jellyfish Pavilion, null², Dynamic Equilibrium of Life, Live Earth Journey, Earth Mart, and Dialogue Theater: Sign of Life—all major draws for visitors.
Among the most popular is the Future of Life pavilion, distinguished by sleek black walls with cascading water. Guests, sometimes waiting in long lines, begin their visit with a gallery displaying historical artifacts that trace Japan’s development from ancient times to the present.
Visitors are then guided by a robot named aiai walkie to the second section, “50 Years in the Future,” which simulates a train journey through a futuristic Japan. Passengers sit opposite humanoid robots as visionary landscapes flash by the windows. Additional interactive robots, Pangie, Petra, and Punica, engage visitors throughout the exhibits, culminating in a portrayal of life a millennium ahead, where humans and androids coexist seamlessly.
A highlight includes a lifelike robotic recreation of pavilion designer and robotics expert Hiroshi Ishiguro, further emphasizing the Expo’s exploration of the evolving relationship between humans and machines.
