FloatR Helps Independent Healthcare Professionals Prepare for Open Enrollment Through Stride
With 2027 Open Enrollment beginning November 1, FloatRs can explore health, dental, vision and life insurance options through FloatR's affiliation with Stride
Making it easier for FloatRs to explore their coverage options is exactly the kind of infrastructure we want to keep building around this workforce.”
NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- With health insurance Open Enrollment opening November 1, FloatR is encouraging independent healthcare professionals to review their coverage options early, and reminding FloatRs, as professionals on the FloatR platform are known, that they can explore individual insurance options and other services for independent workers through FloatR's affiliation with Stride. The reminder is part of More Than a Shift, FloatR's initiative to give independent healthcare professionals access to resources that extend beyond individual work opportunities. — Gregory A. Stein, FloatR President
"Independent professionals value controlling when and where they work, but independence can also mean sorting out coverage on your own," said Evan Haupt, Founder and CEO of FloatR. "Our relationship with Stride gives FloatRs another resource for finding coverage that fits their circumstances."
Through Stride, FloatRs can explore available health, dental, vision and life insurance options. Eligibility, availability, premiums, subsidies, plan terms and coverage vary by individual and plan. FloatR does not select or provide health insurance coverage for any individual.
Key dates for 2027 coverage
For professionals enrolling through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace at HealthCare.gov:
● November 1, 2026: Open Enrollment begins.
● December 15, 2026: Last day to enroll or change plans for coverage starting January 1, 2027.
● January 15, 2027: Open Enrollment ends. Enrollments or changes made December 16 through January 15 generally take effect February 1, 2027.
State-based Marketplaces, such as NY State of Health and Connect for Health Colorado, may set their own deadlines, so professionals should confirm dates with the relevant state Marketplace. Outside Open Enrollment, individuals generally need to qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, often after a qualifying life event such as losing other coverage, moving, getting married or having a baby. Medicaid and CHIP applications are accepted year-round.
"More Than a Shift is about recognizing that independent healthcare professionals have needs that don't begin when they clock in or end when they clock out," said Gregory A. Stein, President of FloatR. "Making it easier for FloatRs to explore their coverage options is exactly the kind of infrastructure we want to keep building around this workforce."

More Than a Shift brings together FloatR programs built around three commitments to independent healthcare professionals: more recognition, more services and more protection. The initiative includes FloatR of the Month recognition, access to services through Stride, FloatR's contractor insurance program for qualifying shifts and additional marketplace trust and safety measures.
